Chocolate Chip Cookies

Baking with M, Week 12

As I mentioned with last week’s recipe, we had several weeks of being busy. It’s been nice to have a couple of mostly relaxing weekends to recover. This weekend we were so lucky to have one of M’s friends and her family over for a playdate. It was too cold to do much outside, so we decided to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

We kept it simple, and did the basic Nestle Toll-House Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. You know the one – right from the back of the package. It’s classic, simple, and quick to make.

M’s friend even cracked her first ever raw egg. It was followed by her second egg, when the first landed on the counter instead of the bowl.

We baked about half of the batter into one tray of a dozen or so cookies, and I rolled the rest into a log in plastic wrap for the freezer to use another time. Chocolate chip cookies are welcome at pretty much any time in our house.

I managed not to take any photos of the occasion. Some disappeared after lunch, and we sent some home with our friends.

Baking with friends was a blast!
